The problem the client was having

Southsea Lifestyle Magazine is a popular local magazine that required high quality and engaging articles that were suitable for a local audience. The writing had to be engaging, factual and appropriate for a wide audience of local residents.

The solution I was able to offer

I have an interest in history and enjoy writing articles about local history for the magazine. I contribute a ‘History Hot Spots’ article for each edition of the online magazine and have written about a wide range of places of local interest including a theatre, a church and a public common.

The impact this had

The editor was impressed with my first article and I’m now a regular contributor to the magazine. My articles have been well received by readers, and I’ve been invited to contribute articles to other local magazines as a result.

“Victoria’s articles are popular with our readers and are always engaging and well written.”

During her years as the UCU branch secretary Vicky has been fully involved in negotiations and assisted the College in formulating many College policies in line with the college strategic plan. This included researching national guidelines, drafting contracts and reading and editing draft policies for discussion at formal meetings between the Union representatives and the College senior leadership team and head of Human Resources. Vicky has been and continues to be a valued and highly effective union officer due in large part to her excellent communication skills and her extremely personable approach.
